Lauren Quinn, is a California-raised and founder that aims to support local artists wherever she is living and emphasis on underrepresented communities: female, minority, and LGBTQ.
In order to grow her swimwear brand, she moved to Brazil without knowing anyone, to learn the language and culture, to truly understand the art of beautifully crafted swimsuits. Living in Brazil, she looked for locals who had a story to tell through patterns, design, art, and photography, people with native ideas about what defines the ideal swimsuit.
Lauren combined both worlds she was presented to, her knowledge of how to construct a swimsuit that highlights a woman's silhouette, and the Brazilian culture of wearing swimsuits every day of their lives. As they came together they collaborated in a vibrant environment of mutual respect. From this powerful union of Brazilian Soul and California beach lifestyle, Bromelia Swimwear was born.
No matter how big or small the part of a person, who works in the design process, is valuable, from the design stage through to pattern work, from sewing to putting the final trims all of them are female, minority, and LGBTQ.
